“Galene”- named for the Greek goddess of the peaceful seas. This new Winter Bicycles randonee bike is destined for many miles of exploration in the maritime Northwest.

The Galene is made from a selection of modern tubing designed to balance long distance comfort, daily use durability and stability with and without a variable cargo load. The tubes are joined with our hallmark seamless fillet brazing and “makers mark” unfiled BB area for a smooth, serene look.

This classically styled randonee bicycle is full of modern features. It features internally routed front and rear dynamo lighting. The lighting has easy to use quick discconects (including inside the frame) to match the S&S frame coupling for travel. The bike runs a Rohloff internally geared hub held in position on swinger drop outs and powered through a Gates carbon belt drive system. This frame was tested and exceeds the Rohloff rear end stiffness tests for this combination. User friendly un-split and removable cabling allow for easy travel preparation. The 650b A23 rims ride on Grand Bois 42mm tires and are wrapped in custom fit Berthoud fenders and RuthWorks leather mud flaps. The bike stops with TRP hydraulic disk brakes. In addition to the finely made Winter stem, the Gelene has Winter rear constructor style carrier, front bag support with custom decaleur, and removable low rider pannier racks to carry loads for all sizes of adventure.

The deep littoral green paint was mixed and applied by Keith Anderson. It balances well with the dark green Brooks saddle and azure Berthoud luggage.
