“L’Arrotino” is Italian for “the knife grinder”. This bike was commissioned by a professional knife sharpener and is based on a 1940’s Roman example. The bike is designed to provide a mobile service to individuals and businesses. It features an integrated (and serviceable) pedal powered sharpening stone, water drip and collection system and a front rack and box. The box lid holds the collapsible front tripod legs for transport and reverses to hold a wet stone for business. The rear of the bike has a single pin release flip down stand to support the operator during sharpening. The bike is built with my signature bilaminate construction and fillet brazed accessories. The high wear industrial finish was provided by ColorWorks.
